We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Jingjing Chen, a distinguished NExT alumni, has been honored with the ACM SIGMM Rising Star Award for 2024.
Since its establishment in 2014, the ACM SIGMM Rising Star Award has acknowledged early-career researchers under 35 years old or within seven years of receiving their Ph.D. This prestigious award recognizes young researchers who have made exceptional contributions to multimedia computing, communication, and applications, celebrating innovative research that has the potential to shape the future of the field. This year’s award goes to Dr. Jingjing Chen for her outstanding contributions in multimedia content analysis and multimedia models.
Dr. Jingjing Chen is currently an associate professor at the School of Computer Science, Fudan University, renowned for her work in robust AI, multimedia content analysis, and deep learning. Her journey with NExT began as a visiting Ph.D. student from 2017 to 2018, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship from 2018 to 2019, where she collaborated closely with Prof. Tat-Seng Chua at the National University of Singapore. Dr. Chen completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science at the City University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Chong-Wah Ngo in 2018. Her research interest lies in the areas of robust AI, multimedia content analysis, and deep learning.
